    Q: What is the minimum bandwidth (ie. speed) required between a computer and the Clearly Retail server to effectively run as a Point of Sales terminal?

    A: The overall speed is very important to service customers effectively. Clearly Retail was designed to operate on regular modem links (33.6K/56K) to gives company representatives the ability to access sales functions while on the road. In our tests, Clearly Retail provided a very usable point of sales interface with a standard 33.6K modem connection.

    Q: What are the minimum system requirements for a computer system to run Clearly Retail?

    A: To run Clearly Retail, we recommend you have at least a 166 Mhz processor, a supported operating system, 32 MB of RAM (64 MB recommended), 30 MB of available hard drive space, a CD-ROM drive, a mouse or compatible pointing device, and a VGA monitor (256 colours).

    Q: I am planning to interconnect my offices via the Internet - does Clearly Retail offer anything to safeguard my data so that it cannot be intercepted by third parties?

    A: Yes. Clearly Retail features RSA data encryption (very similar to the encryption that is used to safeguard on-line credit card transactions and on-line banking). This encryption, when enabled, means that anyone intercepting your data on the Internet will not be able to decode it.

    Q: Will Clearly Retail Operate On An Apple System (Macintosh, iMac, etc)?

    A: Clearly Retail currently requires a Java 2 compatible environment to operate. Apple currently plans to release a Java 2 compatible enviroment with their upcoming Mac OS X software release.

    Q: Do you offer volume pricing options for purchases of client access or server licenses for Clearly Retail?

    Q: What operating systems will Clearly Retail run on?

    A: Clearly Retail will operate on any standard Java 2 platform. It has been tested and certified on Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT/2000, and Redhat Linux 6.2 and higher. As we test other platforms, we will make the system available for those platforms as well.

    Q: If I purchase a Clearly Retail license for one operating system, can I move to a different operating system later?

    A: Yes. The license files for Clearly Retail will work for the same version of Clearly Retail on any supported operating system (currently Windows/Linux).

    Q: Does Clearly Retail support operation in an Application Service Provider (ASP) Environment where one server operates the system for multiple stores?

    Q: I want to resell Clearly Retail and/or offer it as a value-added service to my clients. Do you have a reseller program?

    Q: What accounting features does Clearly Retail contain?

    A: Clearly Retail contains complete Inventory Control, customer tracking, order entry/receiving, and accounts receivable. Clearly Retail also supports exporting customized reports to other applications so that business trends can be further explored or graphed.
