    Platforms
    • Supports multiple database systems:

    • Clearly Retail will run on any Java 2 complient Virtual Machine and is fully supported on the following platforms:
      • Windows 95, 98, Millennium Edition, NT 4.0, and 2000.
      • Redhat Linux 6.2 or higher

    Merchandise Organization
    • Hierarchical group structure to organize your inventory in an easy and logical manner
    • Merchandise can belong to one or more logical groups
    • Simple and easy to use merchandise editor
    • Fractional quantities for items are supported (ie. 4.56 units)
    • Clearly Retail includes a system for bundled items, which can associate one item to multiple other items. Upon purchasing this item, it will automatically include the bundled items on the invoice as well.
    • Tracks on-order quantities, in-stock, item cost, and descriptions of each items
    • Sale price of an item can be in the currency of your choice
    • Serial number entry supported at the time of sale with recording of this information for invoices
    • An Inventory Browser that enables you to browse your inventory in a tree-like structure based on your logical groupings
    • Ability To make mass updates, such as inventory levels, and re-organizing merchandise groupings

    Taxes, Discounts, and Surcharges
    • Flexible discount/surcharge/taxation system
    • Supports regular and compound taxes (tax-on-tax)
    • Percentage based or fixed-rate adjustments (ie. Bottle deposits)
    • Adjustments can be applied to any number of logical groups, making it easy to apply changes to multiple items at once
    • Unlimited number of group and discount/tax combinations
    • Changes are made instantaneously, causing no need for messy program re-starts or end-of-day pre-processing

    Sales
    • Sales can be tracked by “anonymous” cash customer, as well as by individual customer
    • Versatile searching capability for customers and/or merchandise
    • Clearly Retail makes it a breeze to refund, re-price, or re-quantify items during a sale
    • Large print display makes it easier for employees to see the screen and focus on the customer instead of the terminal during a sale
    • Customer invoice history can be accessed from within a sale
    • Invoice payments and credits can be processed within a sale at the touch of a button
    • Taxes can be adjusted at the time of sale to accommodate tax-exempt or adjusted parties
    • Payments are made easy with Clearly Retail, as it accomodates multiple payment types, at time of sale, in multiple currencies
    • Automatic conversion of accepted foreign currencies
    • Based on employee security privileges, Clearly Retail can ask for a reason when a refund is given, or an item's price is changed

    Multi-Currency Support
    • Automatic exchange rate conversion for incoming foreign currency
    • Sales terminals have user-definable base currency of cash
    • Merchandise pricing per item can be in a user-defined currency

    Employees

    • Employees have individual security permissions that can grant or deny access to parts of the Clearly Retail system
    • Cash till payouts are at the touch of a button and record amounts, taxes, and descriptions for the end-of-period report

    Ordering
    • A list of supplier contact information can be maintained within Clearly Retail
    • Order system tracks internal and external order numbers
    • A “suggest” feature that suggests items to order based on supplier, in stock, on-order, and minimum inventory levels
    • Internal cost amounts on inventory are updated automatically
    • Receive orders with a click of a button
    • Partial order receiving, allowing inventory to be updated for incomplete orders
    • Order information can be changed, including adding and removing items, from the time the order was placed to the time all items are received

    Invoices and Receipts
    • Sales have option for printing a receipt, a full-page invoice, or both
    • Invoices and receipts have customizable headers and footers
    • Invoices can easily contain your company log

    Daily cash tills and shifts
    • Flexible cash till support
    • Employees can each have their own cash tills, or can share a cash till on multiple terminals
    • Shared cash till support for single station terminals that have multiple employees using the same cash at the same time
    • Cash tills can be in any currency entered into Clearly Retail
    • Cash till reconciliation tracks all currencies received in a till
    • End-of-day reports are point-and-click then saved within the system for easy retrieval

    Customers
    • Unlimited number of customer records
    • Records detailed customer information within Clearly Retail if specified
    • Individual customers can have pre-defined credit limits enforced by the system
    • Messaging system for customer notes, so if a customer with a note is brought up by the system, the employee will see the message before each sale

    Reporting
    • Recalling common reports are slick and easy with Clearly Retail
    • Previous invoices can be recalled by invoice number, date, or specified customer
    • Previous End of Period reports are stored within Clearly Retail and can easily be accessed
    • Invoice transaction logs are available for each end-of-period report
    • Inventory summary and details reports based on groupings
    • One-touch customer-aged accounts receivable listing
    • Customer credit limit reporting
    • Report Wizard provides user-created reports, enabling users to get exactly the information they need from Clearly Retail. Such report types include:
      • Order Detail and Summary Reports
      • Customer and Customer Sales Reports
      • Employee Reports
      • Invoice Reports
      • General Inventory
      • Payouts, and Exception Reports
      • End of Period and Cash till reports
    • Reports can be previewed and printed to local or network printers
    • Reports can be exported from Clearly Retail for use in other applications such as
      • Microsoft Office
      • Adobe Acrobat PDF, for sharing over the internet

    System Features
    • Easy navigation with large buttons and easy to read text
    • Newly designed, Windows based system which allows for advanced mouse navigations
    • Also includes complete keyboard-only control of sales system to save employees time
    • Manager override at any time for a sales terminal. A manager can login giving permission to an employee to perform a restricted function, and then logout at the press of a button leaving the original employee intact
    • Context-sensitive help from anywhere within Clearly Retail
    • Clearly Retail client terminals can connect to any Clearly Retail server accessible by the local network or the internet if configured
    • Optional encryption of data stream between Clearly Retail clients and server
    • Socks Proxy support (for access through a firewall), and customizable server port numbers
    • Small format receipt printers supported (such as the Epson TM-U200) as well as standard printers installed through the operating system
    • Electronic cash drawer support

    Server Administration
    • Clearly Retail contains a server administration tool which can administer one or more Clearly Retail servers from anywhere on the network
    • Advanced configuration from this module, including database connection setup for external databases
    • Individual stores can be added, edited, and removed
    • Administrator passwords can be reset for a given store in this module
